Job Purpose
Perform day-to-day design and operations for critical and important applications serving the organization.
Conduct daily application health checks, participate in change advisory board reviews, perform post-change checks, and automate tasks where possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple organizational applications to ensure scalable, reliable, and available systems.
- Develop application operations strategies and work effectively with application owners and users.
- Design monitoring and develop availability dashboards for in-scope applications.
- Apply IAM, PAM, and cybersecurity rules to applications.
- Provide technical support and feedback to application and development teams.
- Analyze application usage and adoption, and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute application uptime statistics to monthly SLA reporting.
- Document application deployment, cold-start procedures, critical services, technical standards, and processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and resolve actions affecting application reliability, failure rates, and downtime.
- Plan application maintenance activities, patches, updates, deployments, and system restarts.
- Manage service delivery against service level agreements and recommend cost savings or efficiencies.
- Champion process automation with scripts and tools such as Ansible, and share knowledge with first-line support.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a large company or with a government entity.
- Experience with software development frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and how it delivers applications to end users.
- Experience with OT or manufacturing is a plus.

- Ability to interface successfully with service providers and vendors.
- Application development and application design capability.
- ITIL v3+ Foundation certification is preferred.
