Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, take medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Formulate personalized treatment plans for injuries, illnesses, and disorders within the specialty
- Prescribe and administer appropriate medication, therapy, or other specialized medical care
- Perform necessary procedures/surgeries related to the specialty
- Liaise and consult with other medical specialists, departments, and support services
- Accurately document all relevant clinical information in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities
- Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to junior medical staff, residents, and students
- Communicate clinical information to patients and families in a timely and compassionate manner
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and DOH regulations
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school
- Completion of a structured clinical residency or fellowship program in the relevant specialization
- Minimum of 2 3 years of clinical experience post specialization
- Valid DOH license or eligibility letter to practice in Abu Dhabi
- Current valid license from country of last or current practice
- Certificate of Good Standing from relevant licensing authority
- Successful completion of DOH licensing exam
- Fluency in English and Arabic

Job Summary
- The Specialist Physician shares responsibility with the Consultant Physician for delivering high quality, evidence based, and patient centered care within their division. The role involves diagnosing and treating complex conditions, managing patient care plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, take medical histories, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate personalized treatment plans.
- Treatment and Procedures: Prescribe and administer appropriate medication, therapy, or other specialized medical care and perform necessary procedures/surgeries.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Liaise and consult with other medical specialists, departments, and support services.
- Documentation: Accurately document all relevant clinical information in a clear and timely fashion.
- Quality Improvement and Research: Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research activities.
- Supervision and Education: Provide instruction, guidance, and supervision to junior medical staff, residents, and students.
- Communication: Communicate clinical information to patients and their families in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Compliance: Adhere to all hospital departmental and divisional policies, procedures, and DOH regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: An MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.
- Post Graduate Training: Completion of a structured clinical residency or fellowship program in the relevant specialization.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 3 years of clinical experience post specialization.
- Licensing: DOH License: A valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi license or an eligibility letter to practice in Abu Dhabi is highly preferred.
- Valid Registration: Must provide evidence of a current, valid license from the country of last or current practice.
- Good Standing: A current Certificate of Good Standing from the relevant licensing authority.
- Examinations: Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and a commitment to continuous medical education.
- Language: Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
