About the Role
GAL is seeking an experienced Airframe & Powerplant Aircraft Technician II to perform large and highly complex aircraft maintenance and repairs on Airbus C295 or ATR 72 Series aircraft.

Responsibilities
- Perform large and highly complex aircraft maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable technical orders, standards and regulations
- Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and maintain large and highly complex aircraft systems, components and related aerospace equipment
- Perform highly multifaceted aircraft and component inspections to ensure they are working properly
- Conduct functional tests of components and systems to ensure proper repair
- Provide on the job training and coaching to junior and senior technicians
- Operate and maintain arresting gear and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Perform inspections on aircraft before launch and after recovery and provide signoff on flyable condition
- Operate all Ground Support Equipment (GSE) as required to service aircraft while on ground
- Prepare statements and reports (e.g., deficiency reports, maintenance analysis documents) timely and accurately
Requirements
- Bachelor, Higher Diploma or Technical Diploma, or skill level 7 certified in Airframe & Powerplant
- Minimum of 6 – 8 years of experience within maintenance operations area at an airbase
- Proven hands on experience on Airbus C295 or ATR 72 Series
- Knowledge of aircraft launching and recovering processes
- Knowledge of basic maintenance processes and procedures
- Understanding of aircraft structure, components, troubleshooting, wiring system and functions

About the Role
- To perform large and highly complex aircraft maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable technical orders, standards and regulations, and job guides.
- Perform O, I and D Level when its applicable.
Responsibilities
- Follow the day to day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, service, and maintain large and highly complex aircraft systems, components and related aerospace equipment.
- Perform highly multifaceted aircraft and component inspections to ensure they are working properly.
- Interpret inspection findings and determine adequacy of corrective actions.
- Inspect and identify major aircraft corrosion in order to repair it and identify reasons for it for future prevention purposes.
- Conduct functional tests of components and systems to ensure it has been repaired properly and problems have been addressed.
- Review maintenance data collection reports to determine trends and production effectiveness.
- Provide on the job training and coaching to junior and senior technicians to support their overall development.
- When maintenance problems are encountered, act as a technical expert/ advisor to ensure the timely resolution of issues and minimization of downtime.
- Operate and maintain arresting gear, and associated mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems involved primarily in aircraft carrier take off and landing operations.
- Test and maintain launch and recovery equipment to ensure they are working appropriately.
- Maintain logs of airplane launch, recoveries, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor, Higher Diploma or Technical Diploma, or skill level 7 certified in Airframe & Powerplant.
Required Skills
