Overview

  • We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter to join our aviation maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing aircraft seating components and related parts in accordance with aviation industry standards, customer requirements, and company proced

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare aircraft seats and components by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.
  • Perform spray painting, decal application, and layout design work as required.
  • Mix and apply primers, topcoats, and specialty coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Operate spray guns and painting equipment to achieve a high quality, uniform finish.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality, cosmetic, and airworthiness standards.
  • Read and interpret work orders, technical documents, safety data sheets, and standard operating procedures.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of paints, solvents, and hazardous materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain painting tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Report defects, non conformances, or rework requirements to the supervisor.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with upholstery, mechanical, and production teams to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional painting experience; aerospace or aviation experience preferred.
  • Trade tested painters with spray painting, decal application, and layout design skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and material handling.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and safety data sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an FAA regulated or aviation environment.
  • Certification in spray painting or surface preparation.
  • Familiarity with waterborne, polyurethane, and epoxy paint systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
  • Comfortable working with paints, solvents, and ventilated spray booth environments.
  • Ability to wear respirators and other required PPE.

Work Environment

  • Fast paced aviation maintenance hangar or workshop environment.
  • Exposure to noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • May require shift work and overtime to meet production schedules.
