Role Overview

Serve as the hands-on technical operator of the local geo lab.

Coordinate physical and virtual lab usage, support teams using new tools, manage demo and proof-of-concept requests, and build prototypes for clients.

Work across an integrated development environment, cloud console, and workshop room.

What You Will Do

  • Manage bookings, room readiness, equipment, tooling access, and on-site logistics for workshops and client visits.
  • Provide hands-on support during workshops using agentic frameworks, prototyping tools, and sandbox environments.
  • Triage prototype requests, scope effort, assign resources, and track delivery.
  • Build demos and proof-of-concept prototypes for agentic AI use cases.
  • Set up environments, troubleshoot sessions, and capture build artifacts.
  • Maintain tools, sandbox accounts, sample datasets, and reusable scaffolding.
  • Share reusable patterns and workshop learnings with the national lab team.
  • Report lab utilization metrics to local and national stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • 2–5 years of experience in technical delivery, solutions engineering, data or AI engineering, applied machine learning, full-stack development, or technical consulting.
  • Comfort with terminals and command-line interfaces across tools and environments.
  • Experience configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating MCP servers or clients.
  • Hands-on experience with at least two listed LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, Custom GPTs or Copilot Studio, Python prototyping, or vector stores and RAG.
  • Comfort facilitating client-facing workshops, demos, and working sessions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects, sessions, and requests simultaneously.
  • Curious about emerging tools and focused on delivering functional solutions.
  • Collaborative with CST, Digital and Transformation teams, and the national lab team.

Compensation

  • The expected base salary range is CAD 80,000 to CAD 100,000 per year.
  • The position may be eligible for bonus awards.
  • Base salary depends on location, skills, competencies, and qualifications.
