Job Purpose

The Emirates Group IT organisation delivers technology initiatives supporting a global airline and its Dubai hub.

The Agile Delivery Lead - Commercial manages delivery across vendor-led CAPEX projects, product enhancements, support releases, and technical debt reduction.

The role works with strategic vendors to manage timelines, budgets, quality, and integrations with enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery governance across internal and supplier teams, including dependency management, milestone tracking, risk and issue management, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Perform the Scrum Master role for a high-performing multidisciplinary team and establish standards for delivery.
  • Schedule user stories into sprint plans and facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and blockers to support the flow of value.
  • Coach the team in Agile and Scrum practices, self-organisation, empowerment, sustainable pace, and maturity improvement.
  • Work with Technical Product Owners to refine backlogs, commit stories to sprints, and visualise progress.
  • Support Technical Product Owners in managing business expectations and transparency across backlogs and schedules.
  • Define and improve Agile Delivery Management processes and best practices, including conflict resolution.
  • Ensure acceptance criteria, Definition of Done, and quality management plans are followed.
  • Maintain an agile project management tool such as ScrumDesk or JIRA.

Qualifications

  • Degree, honours degree, or equivalent qualification in computer science or a similar subject.
  • Certified Scrum Master with three years of practical Scrum management experience; PMI-ACP transition exemptions apply to existing SDCs.
  • At least five years of IT experience in agile delivery within small or medium technology change programmes.
  • Proven leadership and project delivery experience in a matrix organisation with global teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, JIRA, Confluence, and similar software delivery tools.
  • Ability to communicate specialist information clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills reflecting openness, honesty, and respect.
