Age Group Swim - Assistant Coach

Reports To: Director of Athletics & High School Head Coach

Salary: Stipend (set by coaches pay scale)

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining safe conditions in accordance with governing bodies, league, sports medicine and RSD policies/procedures.

Furthermore the candidate will be responsible for instilling Red Knight pride, teaching education through athletics, and fundraising.

• Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferable experience working in a supervision role in athletics, recreation, education, or related fields.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with adults and students in a diverse work environment.

• Supervise student-athletes
• Stay current with current rules, coaching techniques, schemes, and best practices
• Monitor student-athletes to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Place student-athletes in positions to succeed not only in their sport, but also in life
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including communication skills with sports medicine staff, game workers, officials, media, students, parents, spectators, and facility staff.
• Ensures that all possible safety measures are observed, including taking proper care of equipment and proper surveillance of program participants.
• Attend all training sessions and any additional staff meetings.
