Overview

The After Market Sales Consultant – Volvo plays a crucial role in ensuring clients who purchase equipment from FAMCO receive comprehensive parts and service support.

The role focuses on maximizing sales opportunities for parts and services while collaborating closely with internal teams and maintaining strong customer relationships.

As the first point of contact for customers, the consultant manages requests related to parts and service and ensures all interactions meet customer requirements.

This role is pivotal within the Aftermarket Department, supporting Volvo and SDLG construction equipment customers while contributing to departmental planning and strategic activities.

Customer Coverage

  • Achieve effective customer coverage within the assigned sales territory through structured coverage planning.
  • Maintain strong understanding of customer needs and buying trends through regular field visits and customer engagement.
  • Develop and maintain customer call schedules and visit plans.
  • Identify and develop new customer accounts through active prospecting and follow-up activities.
  • Attend new machine deliveries when practical and promote Parts & Service offerings including PM contracts, CSAs, and Care Track solutions.
  • Monitor customer parts and service requirements to ensure timely completion and proactive communication.

Financial Sales Performance

  • Achieve budgeted sales volume, gross profit, and market share targets.
  • Promote a professional image while delivering differentiated service and quality support based on sound technical advice.
  • Identify aftermarket sales opportunities within the assigned territory to grow FAMCO parts and service business.
  • Drive targeted sales initiatives across key product categories such as undercarriage, GET, engines, power-train, and hydraulic attachments.
  • Work closely with head office and support teams to identify business opportunities and provide suitable aftermarket solutions.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers to prepare and present estimates, quotations, and service proposals to customers.

General Duties

  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct in line with company standards and policies.
  • Ensure customer information and machine population records are regularly updated in the system.
  • Maintain company vehicle and assigned company property in good condition.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Report incidents and hazards in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Participate actively in workplace Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
  • Wear PPE and ensure compliance with safety standards at all times.
  • Take ownership of personal and workplace safety.

  • Ensure high quality standards are maintained in all work activities.
  • Promote the mindset of “done right, done well, done once” across all customer interactions and deliverables.
