Accounts & Tax Manager

Role Overview

Accounting and Financial Control

• Lead the accounting function and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant financial records.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accruals, journals, payroll accounting, disbursements, adjustments, and cost allocations.
• Lead periodic closing activities and review accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.

Reporting, Assets, Treasury, and Performance

• Prepare and consolidate periodic and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Prepare cash-flow forecasts, monitor liquidity, analyze financing obligations, and support investment decisions.
• Support budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, scenario analysis, and cost optimization.

Tax and Compliance

• Lead corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax compliance and tax accounting activities.
• Prepare tax returns, provisions, payment schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor tax legislation and coordinate tax audits, assessments, disputes, appeals, and regulatory matters.
• Maintain financial governance, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.

Leadership and Transformation

• Lead, develop, and motivate the Accounts & Tax team.
• Advise the CFO and senior leadership and maintain relationships with auditors, regulators, banks, suppliers, investors, and advisors.
• Lead improvements to finance processes, systems, controls, ERP, accounting, tax, and e-invoicing capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline is required.
• An MBA is preferred, and CA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA qualification is highly desirable.
• The role requires at least 12 years of relevant finance or accounting experience and 5 years in progressively senior managerial positions.
• Experience must cover accounting or financial control, tax, IFRS, consolidation, fixed assets, treasury, financial controls, audits, and finance team management.

Professional Skills

• Core skills include financial accounting, IFRS reporting, general ledger management, consolidation, fixed asset accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, tax, internal controls, audit management, ERP, and e-invoicing.
• Excellent English communication is mandatory; Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Experience in power generation, energy, utilities, water, oil and gas, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive organizations is advantageous.

Location and Work Arrangement

• The position is located in Doha, Qatar.
• Work location is in person.
