Responsibilities
- Manage day to day bookkeeping and financial transactions using QuickBooks
- Maintain accurate sales, purchase, and general ledger records
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations
- Manage accounts receivable and credit control activities
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Support management with financial analysis and business performance reporting
- Assist with UK VAT returns and compliance requirements
- Support payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accountant, Assistant Accountant, or Bookkeeper role
- Strong hands on experience using QuickBooks
- Solid understanding of UK accounting principles and practices
- Experience with VAT, reconciliations, management accounts, and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and analytical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
- Professional accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) are advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

About Us & Role Overview
- We are a growing international operations business supporting UK based energy and engineering services.
- We are seeking an experienced and detail oriented Accountant to join our Dubai office and support the financial management of our UK operations.
- The Accountant will be responsible for managing day to day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting management with reporting and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Managing day to day bookkeeping and financial transactions using QuickBooks.
- Maintaining accurate sales, purchase, and general ledger records.
- Processing supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Managing accounts receivable and credit control activities.
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts.

- Assisting with UK VAT returns and compliance requirements.
- Supporting payroll processing and payroll reconciliations.
- Working with external accountants and auditors as required.
- Ensuring accounting records comply with UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining financial controls and supporting audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities Administration & Process Improvement
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
- Supporting operational teams with finance related queries.
- Developing and improving accounting processes and reporting procedures.
- Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and management requests.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an Accountant, Assistant Accountant, or Bookkeeper role.
- Strong hands on experience using QuickBooks.
- Solid understanding of UK accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with VAT, reconciliations, management accounts, and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
