About the Role
Raytheon is seeking a Power Design Electrical Engineer I to join the Power Electronics & Controls team, focusing on design, analysis, and testing of power conversion circuitry for defense systems.

- Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry utilizing standard non isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck boost) including modules and discrete designs
- Guide Electronic Computer Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
- Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
- Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- Experience in low level electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and/or transistors
- Experience with any of the following non isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck boost
- Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op amp circuits
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance

Role Overview

- The Effector Guidance Electronics (EGE) department is responsible for all aspects of these subsystems design, test and production.
- Join our Power Electronics & Controls (PE&C) team with the skills and passion to engineer complex power systems, analog design, linear control systems and/or motor control systems.
- A successful candidate is one who can participate in a multi disciplined team, properly apply engineering tools & processes and effectively communicate with others.
What You Will Do
- Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck boost) including modules and discrete designs.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

- Experience with any of the following non isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck boost.
- Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op amp circuits.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics.
- Demonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout.
- Understanding of fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques.
- Basic understanding of commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes.
- Familiarity with circuit simulators such as SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad.
