About the Role
Beckman Coulter Diagnostics seeks a Workflow & Informatics Consultant to act as a subject matter expert in clinical lab automation and informatics. You will partner with customers to design future-state workflows using Lean methods, lead lab assessments, and deliver consulting outputs.

- Act as workflow and informatics subject matter expert across clinical labs
- Partner with customers to understand current state workflows and design future state models using Lean methods
- Lead lab assessment activities including workflow mapping, volume analysis, and bottleneck identification
- Deliver workflow consulting outputs such as process maps, layout proposals, and simulation recommendations
- Create and deliver proposals and presentations to support selling and delivery for healthcare providers
- Serve as trusted advisor to customers ensuring solution alignment with clinical/operational goals
- Build and maintain customer facing best practices library for Automation/IT
- Provide product presentations, demonstrations, and end user trainings/workshops
- Provide consulting support for informatics solution products (LIS/IT integration)
- Work with sales and service teams to develop project plans and manage execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Sciences, Informatics, Biomedical, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in the IVD industry
- 1 2 years of LIS consulting, technical support, or process management experience
- Familiarity with healthcare integration standards (ASTM, HL7, etc.)
- Strong understanding of clinical lab environments and LIS
- Solid technical foundation across Microsoft Windows, SQL, networking, and security concepts
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and customer facing consulting skills

Role Overview

- Sits at the intersection of laboratory operations, informatics, automation, and customer value
- Translates real workflow pain points into scalable Total Lab Automation and informatics solutions
What you'll do
- Act as a workflow and informatics subject matter expert across clinical labs
- Partner with customers to understand current state workflows and constraints, then design a future state model using Lean and workflow engineering methods
- Lead lab assessment activities including customer expectations, workflow mapping, lab volumes, and operational bottlenecks
- Deliver workflow consulting outputs: process maps, layout documentation, simulation driven recommendations
- Create and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to support selling and delivery for medium to large healthcare providers
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers ensuring solution is competitive, measurable, and aligned to clinical/operational goals
- Build and maintain a customer facing best practices library for Automation/IT
- Provide product presentations, demonstrations, and end user trainings/workshops
- Provide consulting support for informatics solution products (LIS/IT integration and workflow enablement)
- Work directly with sales and service teams to develop project plans that deliver the agreed solution on time and within budget
- Own execution: manage project tasks, risks, and dependencies
What you bring
- Familiarity with healthcare integration standards (ASTM, HL7, etc.)
- Strong understanding of clinical lab environments, customer workflows, and LIS components
- Ability to troubleshoot, consult, and drive resolution balancing technical depth with operational practicality
- Strong communication skills to translate requirements across technical and non technical stakeholders
- Solid technical foundation across Microsoft Windows, SQL, networking, and security concepts
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and customer facing consulting skills
- Self driven 'can do' mindset with ability to execute with limited day to day direction
- Strong internal and external networking capability; able to build long term relationships and credibility quickly
- Awareness of laboratory accreditation expectations and evolving policies/technology
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Sciences, Informatics, Biomedical, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the IVD industry; consultancy + solution selling experience strongly preferred
- 1–2 years of LIS consulting, technical support, or process management experience
- Demonstrated experience tailoring solutions to support account acquisition and growth within clinical/hospital lab environments
