About the Role
SGS is looking for a Wet Chem Laboratory/AAS Technician to analyze samples accurately and timely in Jeddah. The role involves performing analytical functions, operating instruments like AAS, ICP, UV, and XRF, and maintaining lab standards.

Responsibilities
- Perform all analytical functions to support laboratory activities in an enthusiastic and professional manner, in accordance with procedures
- Perform all analyses according to documented methods and work procedures
- Work in an organized and orderly manner to optimize laboratory performance
- Check all laboratory equipment according to a specified procedure
- Effectively supervise staff to achieve optimal production levels
- Maintain a high level of laboratory maintenance
- Responsible for instruments at the Wet Chem. Section like the AAS, ICP, UV, LECO and XRF
- Ensure that the required PPE is worn at all times
- Ensure that correct hygiene procedures are followed
- Ensure that a high level of housekeeping is maintained
- Report all incidents and accidents to the supervisor or management
- Ensure that SMS Q&HSE procedures are implemented and followed
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in a similar position
- Technical knowledge
- Good communication skills
- Understanding of wet chemical analysis
- Ability to operate all equipment and instruments within the section like AAS, ICP, UV and XRF

Main Job Purpose
- The Wet Chem Laboratory/AAS Technician will be responsible for analyzing assigned samples in the most accurate, productive and timely manner according to the relevant test method and work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Perform all analytical functions to support laboratory activities in an enthusiastic and professional manner, in accordance with procedures to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Perform all analyses according to documented methods and work procedures.
- Work in an organized and orderly manner to optimize laboratory performance.
- Check all laboratory equipment according to a specified procedure.
- Effectively supervise staff to achieve optimal production levels.
- Maintain a high level of laboratory maintenance.
- Responsible of instruments at the Wet Chem. Section like the AAS, ICP , UV , LECO and XRF.
Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications
- Education: Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Have at least one year of experience in a similar position.
- Skills: Technical knowledge, Good communication skills, Understanding of wet chemical analysis, Ability to operate all equipment and instruments within the section like AAS,ICP,UV and XRF.
Other Specifications
- Safety: Ensure that the required PPE is worn at all times, correct hygiene procedures are followed, high level of housekeeping is maintained, report all incidents and accidents, ensure SMS Q&HSE procedures are implemented.
- Operational: Actively participate in shift activities, report maintenance work, maintain clean work area, ensure analytical methods are followed, report instrument issues.
- Quality Control: Assist in proper maintenance of records, ensure non conformities are noted/repaired, update equipment records, ensure solutions/standards are labeled, check dispensers/scales/hot plates every shift.
- Administration: Keep management informed of problems, notify management when stock is low, participate in training, maintain good relationships with clients and authorities.
