About the Role
SGS is seeking an HSE Officer to implement health, safety, and environmental policies on a project site in Dubai. The role involves conducting inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering safety training.

Responsibilities
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with HSE legislation, client requirements, and company policies
- Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and safety audits
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness training
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations and corrective actions
- Maintain HSE records, registers, and documentation
- Support supervisors and subcontractors in implementing safe work practices
- Monitor the use of PPE and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activities
- Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities on HSE matters
- Assist in the development and review of Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), and other HSE documentation
- Promote continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance
Requirements
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent internationally recognised HSE qualification
- Minimum of five (5) years' relevant onsite HSE experience within the UAE/GCC, preferably on construction, infrastructure, industrial, or utility projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, industry standards, and best practices
- Strong experience in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organisational, reporting, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid UAE driving licence (preferred)
- Arabic language skills are an advantage
