Job Summary
Seeking a skilled and experienced Welder Fabricator to join a marine maintenance team.
The role covers fabrication, welding, repair, and maintenance of marine vessels, steel structures, piping systems, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication work on marine vessels, barges, pontoons, platforms, and steel structures.
- Read technical drawings, fabrication sketches, and welding procedures.
- Carry out cutting, grinding, fitting, and assembly of metal components.
- Repair damaged metal structures and equipment onboard vessels and in workshops.
- Execute MIG, TIG, Arc, and gas welding as required.
- Fabricate handrails, brackets, supports, piping, and structural components.
- Inspect completed welds and operate welding and fabrication tools safely.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and vessel crews while maintaining safe work areas.
Requirements
- Proven Welder Fabricator experience, preferably in marine, shipyard, offshore, or heavy industrial environments.
- Knowledge of marine steel fabrication and repair work.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and SMAW/Arc welding processes.
- Familiarity with marine maintenance and onboard repair activities.
- Physical fitness for confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
- Good understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Relevant welding certifications are advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical diploma or vocational certification in welding or fabrication.
- Experience with vessels, ship repair, offshore platforms, or marine equipment.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Work Location
- The position is performed in person in marine and shipyard environments.
