About the Role

Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform enhanced due diligence on high risk Private Banking and Wealth customers
- Act as primary escalation point for complex risk assessments, PEP cases, and potential financial crime concerns
- Contribute expertise to broader Compliance coverage including product governance and process automation
- Assess and escalate red flags relating to ML/TF, sanctions evasion, fraud, bribery, corruption, and reputational risk
- Ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations, sanctions requirements, and internal policies
- Liaise with AML Investigations, Sanctions teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries
- Conduct quality reviews, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement in processes and templates
- Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and technical support to analysts
- Collaborate with Group Compliance, Internal Audit, and external auditors
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business, Accounting, Risk, or related field
- At least 5 7 years of experience in AML/KYC/compliance/financial crime operations
- Strong expertise in EDD, AML/CFT, sanctions, and customer risk assessment
- Ability to review and challenge analyst assessments effectively
- Strong understanding of PEPs, complex structures, SoW/SoF methodologies
- Practical experience in Private Banking type professional environments
- Excellent judgment and escalation capability
- Strong quality control and documentation standards
- Effective stakeholder coordination and team management skills

Job Purpose
- To oversee and perform enhanced due diligence on high risk Private Banking and Wealth customers, ensuring quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance of all EDD reviews, while acting as the primary escalation point for complex risk assessments, PEP cases, and potential financial crime concerns.
- To contribute expertise to broader Compliance coverage of the Private Banking and Wealth Management businesses, including product governance, process automation, and other productivity enhancing initiatives.
Main Working Relationships
- Assess and escalate red flags relating to ML/TF, sanctions evasion, fraud, bribery, corruption, and reputational risk with clear recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with AML/CFT regulations, sanctions requirements, and internal policies, maintaining consistency across the team.
- Liaise effectively with AML Investigations, Sanctions teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and manage escalations.
- Conduct quality reviews, provide feedback, and drive continuous improvement in processes, templates, efficiency, and turnaround times.
- Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and technical support to analysts, including bringing real life examples back to the team for lessons learned assessments.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, Accounting, Risk, or a related field
- At least 5 7 years of experience in AML/KYC/compliance/financial crime operations
- Strong expertise in EDD, AML/CFT, sanctions, and customer risk assessment
- Ability to review and challenge analyst assessments effectively

Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with Group Compliance and other embedded units (AML, Sanctions, Assurance)
- Support coordination with Internal Audit and external auditors, ensuring timely closure of findings
- Maintain effective working relationships with the Business and Governance
