Role Overview
Warehouse Technician – MM Flowers Location: Alconbury Contract: 4 on / 4 off (permanent days or permanent nights available) Reporting to: Despatch Manager (with a dotted line into Engineering) About the Role MM Flowers is seeking a proactive and reliable Warehouse Technician to support the operation of our advanced central palletising system. This role is key to ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of automated equipment, including pallet wrapping and labelling systems. You will be responsible for basic maintenance, housekeeping, and manual interventions, helping to keep operations efficient, safe, and running at optimal performance. Key Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the palletising system, including clearing jams, removing debris, and managing spillages Ensure the system operates efficiently, including start-up checks (robot referencing, pneumatic and servo motor functionality) Monitor and replenish consumables such as stretch wrap and label reels, ensuring correct setup and performance Carry out basic daily and weekly planned maintenance tasks (e.g. sensor cleaning, air pressure checks, visual inspections, fire shutter and E-stop testing) Respond to minor breakdowns using fault-finding processes, escalating more complex issues promptly to the Engineering team Accurately log faults, issues, and resolutions, contributing to continuous improvement Support the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures and fault-finding guides Communicate effectively regarding system performance, issues, and required escalations What We’re Looking For Essential: Basic understanding of machinery and confidence working with automated systems Ability to work safely, efficiently, and respond to the demands of a fast-paced production environment Strong sense of responsibility and confidence in decision-making Desirable: Previous experience working with automation systems Experience with palletising, wrapping, or labelling equipment Key Behaviours Trustworthy and dependable Passionate and proactive approach to work Dynamic and adaptable Strong team player with a collaborative mindset Why Join MM Flowers?
