Position Overview
Oversee daily warehouse operations, supervise the warehouse team, and ensure safe, accurate, and efficient handling of stock and goods.
The role requires leadership, inventory, operational, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage receiving, unloading, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, stock checks, documentation, and inventory accuracy.
- Lead staff, prepare schedules, allocate duties, monitor productivity and attendance, and provide training and coaching.
- Coordinate stock movement with purchasing, retail, kitchen, delivery, sales, and management teams.
- Organize warehouse space and maintain equipment, cleanliness, housekeeping, security, and safe working conditions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, manual handling, fire safety, and workplace regulations.
- Investigate discrepancies and incidents, prepare operational reports, and improve efficiency, workflow, stock accuracy, and cost control.
Requirements
- Proven warehouse supervision, warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, or similar experience.
- Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse procedures, stock control, inventory management, receiving, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Knowledge of health and safety, manual handling, and warehouse safety procedures.
- Experience with warehouse management, inventory, POS, or other stock-management systems is advantageous.
- Ability to manage priorities, maintain productivity, train staff, and support physical handling tasks.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Forklift or other warehouse-equipment experience and relevant logistics or supply-chain qualifications are advantageous.
