Latte Art Specialist

Role Description

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites, and other specialty coffee drinks.
• Create hearts, rosettas, tulips, swans, and other latte art designs.
• Prepare and extract espresso according to recipes, grind settings, dose, yield, and extraction standards.
• Steam and texture milk to the correct temperature, consistency, and microfoam quality.
• Adjust grind size, dosing, tamping, extraction time, and related variables to maintain espresso quality.

Quality and Customer Service

• Maintain consistent beverage taste, temperature, texture, appearance, and presentation.
• Prepare customized beverages according to customer orders and preferences.
• Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
• Communicate with customers about beverage selections, coffee characteristics, preparation methods, and customization options.
• Conduct quality checks before serving and minimize coffee, milk, and ingredient waste.

Equipment and Supplies

• Monitor espresso machines, grinders, milk-steaming equipment, and other coffee-making equipment.
• Clean and sanitize machines, steam wands, grinders, pitchers, tools, and preparation areas.
• Monitor coffee beans, milk, syrups, toppings, cups, and other beverage supplies and report shortages.
• Store and handle coffee, milk, and other ingredients according to food safety requirements.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions, beverage-quality issues, safety concerns, and operational problems.

Team and Operations

• Support new specialty coffee drinks, latte art designs, demonstrations, competitions, promotional events, private functions, and special requests.
• Demonstrate latte art techniques and assist with training baristas or other team members when required.
• Maintain awareness of specialty coffee trends, brewing techniques, latte art methods, and presentation standards.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, occupational health and safety, and company procedures.
• Coordinate with baristas, supervisors, kitchen staff, service teams, suppliers, and other relevant personnel.

Requirements

• Strong espresso preparation and extraction skills are required.
• Ability to create consistent latte art using milk-steaming and free-pouring techniques is required.
• Ability to steam and texture milk to the appropriate temperature, consistency, and microfoam quality is required.
• Ability to operate and monitor espresso machines, grinders, and other professional coffee equipment is required.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, occupational health and safety, and company procedures is required.
• Professional and efficient customer-service skills are required.
• Ability to maintain beverage consistency, presentation, and quality standards is required.
