Overview
The Porter will support warehouse and logistics operations by ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and safe handling of goods and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload, load and move stock and supplies safely by hand or using pallet trucks, trolleys and other warehouse equipment as instructed.
- Sort, label and stage goods for storage, picking, and dispatch according to instructions and inventory procedures.
- Assist with basic stock counts and paperwork, including checking delivery notes, recording discrepancies, and reporting damaged items to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of warehouse areas, loading bays and storage racks; sweep, remove waste, and ensure waste and recycling are disposed of per site procedures.
- Operate manual handling equipment safely following training and site rules; report any equipment faults or safety hazards immediately.
- Support pickers and packers during busy periods and help prepare goods for courier collection or internal delivery rounds.
- Follow all health & safety, hygiene and security procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the line manager to support warehouse operations.
