Role Purpose
The VP Strategic Finance & Corporate Initiatives supports leadership in strategic priorities, financial analysis, governance, performance management, and cross-functional initiatives.
The role combines Big Four audit, transaction services, deals advisory, or corporate finance rigor with execution across finance, strategy, governance, operations, and special projects.
The position serves as a trusted resource to senior leadership.
Executive and Strategic Support
- Support executive management in planning and executing strategic priorities.
- Prepare executive briefings, management presentations, decision papers, and board materials.
- Research financial, commercial, operational, and strategic matters.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives and track decisions, commitments, deadlines, dependencies, and owners.
Corporate Finance and Analysis
- Analyze business cases, investment opportunities, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, capital allocation, new products, cost optimization, and restructuring.
- Prepare and review financial models, forecasts, scenario analyses, sensitivity analyses, valuation assessments, budget impact analyses, and commercial recommendations.
Performance and Special Projects
- Monitor financial, operational, and strategic performance and analyze variances against budgets, forecasts, business plans, and objectives.
- Identify bottlenecks, financial risks, delivery delays, and resource constraints, then coordinate corrective actions.
- Manage or support transformation, operating-model, restructuring, process-improvement, cost-reduction, digital-transformation, integration, governance, and new-business initiatives.
- Develop project plans, coordinate stakeholders, monitor risks and deliverables, report progress, and escalate delivery concerns.
Governance and Reviews
- Coordinate Board, Executive Committee, and management meeting materials and maintain records of decisions, actions, owners, and deadlines.
- Support governance frameworks, policies, reporting structures, and disciplined decision-making.
- Review departmental performance, proposals, capital expenditure, contracts, vendor performance, cost structures, operational processes, and control frameworks.
- Support confidential reviews and investigations, analyze records and transactions, identify control weaknesses or unusual activity, and coordinate with control functions and advisors.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Six to ten years of relevant professional experience.
- At least three to five years of experience with a Big Four firm such as PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG.
- Current or previous experience at Manager or experienced Assistant Manager level.
- Relevant background in external audit, transaction services, financial due diligence, deals advisory, corporate finance, valuations, forensic services, or business consulting.
Preferred Qualifications and Exposure
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, or an equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
- An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- Corporate or industry experience following Big Four employment is advantageous.
- Experience supporting senior executives or managing cross-functional projects is preferred.
- Exposure to banking, investment management, private equity, financial services, or regulated organizations is advantageous.
Technical Competencies
- Financial statement analysis, financial modeling, corporate finance, business-case development, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and valuation principles.
- Strategic planning, enterprise performance management, risk and control assessment, project coordination, process improvement, data analysis, and presentation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and executive-level Microsoft PowerPoint.

- Strong commercial and financial judgment, attention to detail, executive communication, analytical and problem-solving capability, and concise writing.
- Ability to handle confidential information, challenge senior stakeholders constructively, work independently, prioritize multiple demands, and maintain execution discipline.
