Lansdowne Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.
We are seeking an outgoing, client-focused assistant who thrives in exam room management, client engagement, and multitasking in a busy clinical environment.
In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care.
Success in this role starts with strong communication, confidence running exam rooms, and solid phlebotomy skills — everything else we're happy to build on together.
Responsibilities
include:
- Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
- Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
- Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service
Schedule and compensation:
- Compensation: $22 - 25 per hour, for each hour worked
- Schedule: This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule open to offering 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts and availability needed Monday–Friday with rotating weekend availability. No on-call requirements.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
- Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred
- Phlebotomy & SQ injections
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
