Veterinary Assistant

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Support exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, surgery, and dentistry.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas.
• Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery as directed.
• Maintain medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients.
• Maintain clean and organized clinical spaces.

Schedule

• The position may be full-time or part-time.
• The schedule may follow a flexible 5/8 or 4/10 format, with availability needed Monday through Friday.

Compensation

• Compensation is $16 to $18 per hour for each hour worked.
• A bonus of up to $500 may be available depending on experience.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills

• At least 3 years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role is preferred.
• Safe animal handling, veterinary terminology, patient care, and procedure assistance skills are required.
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs is preferred.
• Candidates must maintain accurate records, communicate professionally, attend reliably, and safely stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients.
