The Role
Lead maintenance strategy, reliability programs, repair planning, technical coordination, inspections, dry-docking, and lifecycle management for a marine vessel fleet.

Work Arrangement
- The role is fully remote and based in the United Arab Emirates.
- The stated employment type is full-time.
Maintenance and Reliability
- Lead preventive, predictive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance programs.
- Monitor critical machinery, propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, navigation, and safety systems.
- Coordinate troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and emergency repairs.
- Analyze maintenance data, equipment risks, failure rates, backlogs, availability, and repair times.
- Implement condition monitoring, vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermal monitoring, and predictive maintenance technologies.
Dry-Docking and Compliance
- Plan and manage major repairs, equipment overhauls, upgrades, refurbishment projects, and dry-docking.
- Coordinate shipyards, classification societies, flag authorities, manufacturers, and specialist contractors.
- Ensure statutory surveys, class inspections, certifications, technical records, and compliance activities are completed on schedule.
- Support compliance with ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, maritime regulations, audits, inspections, and port-state-control activities.
Procurement and Financial Management
- Manage critical spare-parts planning, inventory, procurement, technical stores, consumables, tools, and specialist services.
- Manage vendors, shipyards, suppliers, maintenance budgets, repair costs, dry-docking expenditure, and capital investment requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery reliability, technical support, cost effectiveness, and budget variances.
Safety, Reporting, and Development
- Promote safety through risk assessments, permits, isolation procedures, and safe-work practices.
- Develop maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, emergency instructions, and equipment documentation.
- Coordinate technical training and competency development for engineers, technicians, and vessel personnel.
- Report vessel reliability, maintenance performance, costs, compliance, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in vessel maintenance, marine engineering, technical ship management, fleet maintenance, maritime engineering, or marine asset management.
- Knowledge of marine propulsion, auxiliary machinery, electrical systems, automation, and vessel equipment.
- Experience with planned maintenance systems, condition-based maintenance, dry-docking, shipyard repairs, and major maintenance projects.
- Knowledge of classification society requirements, statutory inspections, ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and maritime regulations.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, procurement, spare parts, technical suppliers, projects, and contractors.
- Familiarity with CMMS, condition-monitoring systems, fleet-management platforms, and maintenance analytics.
- Strong communication skills in written and verbal English and experience with international, distributed teams.
