Job Overview

  • The post holder will report to the Avionics Junior Supervisor and be an experienced and skilled avionic technician, undertaking a range of detailed base maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft.
  • Requires experience of maintenance on the Typhoon, understanding of approved data set, and competence in carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.
  • Demonstrates a distinct ability of trade knowledge of Typhoon aircraft and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team.

Core Activities

  • Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Typhoon Avionic systems, assuring work is completed in accordance with the work package using relevant approved technical information.
  • Assisting in resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management.
  • Undertaking and completing tasked maintenance activities on Typhoon Avionic systems, including component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and functional/system tests.
  • Demonstrating a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities and taking direction appropriately.
  • Maintaining a personal task authorization for working on components in accordance with QAF requirements.
  • Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor.
  • Undertaking support tasks within the Base Maintenance Facility required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g., oversight checks, control of tooling/test equipment).
  • Undertaking fault evaluation and raising ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT/paper based).
  • Compiling required reporting, identifying any issues and escalating as appropriate.
  • Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, signing other personnel’s logbooks as appropriate within trade and skills boundaries.
