Role overview
SOCOTEC is recruiting a Trainee Field Crew Leader in Leeds for its Water Quality Monitoring team.
The role leads, supervises, and supports field crew operatives on water quality monitoring projects across the UK.
The work supports sewer network management, flood prevention, pollution reduction, and river and bathing water health.
Responsibilities
- Supervise field crew operatives during site-based monitoring activities.
- Lead water quality inspections, installations, maintenance, removals, and data retrieval.
- Ensure fieldwork follows health and safety procedures, RAMS, work instructions, and project plans.
- Coordinate daily activities as the on-site lead with project managers and schedulers.
- Mentor and train field crew members and identify skills gaps and training needs.
- Complete project documentation, site records, and timesheets accurately and on time.
- Manage vehicles, PPE, tools, and water quality monitoring equipment.
- Report incidents, near misses, and defective equipment under company procedures.
- Represent SOCOTEC professionally with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
