- Assist engineers with design layouts, basic calculations, and engineering drawings
- Help prepare engineering deliverables including plans, sections, diagrams, and reports
- Use CAD and other engineering software to assist in preparing design documents
- Support site supervision teams with inspections, site walkdowns, and progress monitoring
- Assist in reviewing contractor submissions, as built information, and site records
- Collect, organize, and review project data such as surveys, as built records, and technical specifications
- Update drawings and documents based on redlines and markups from senior staff
- Support coordination between disciplines by updating design and site information
- Assist with technical documentation, presentations, and meeting materials
- Learn and apply relevant standards, codes, and Parsons procedures
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil or Transportation) at an accredited institution in Qatar
- Fundamental understanding of core engineering principles
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow standards
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Exposure to discipline specific software (e.g., Civil 3D, Synchro, SIDRA) is preferable
- Familiarity with Transportation practices or prior exposure is preferable
- Familiarity with basic Highway design workflows is preferable
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat for marking up drawings is preferable

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for a Traffic Engineering Intern to join the team in Qatar.
- The role involves supporting Traffic Engineers and Designers in delivering coordinated designs and site supervision activities on multidisciplinary projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting Engineers with design layouts, basic calculations, and engineering drawings.
- Helping prepare engineering deliverables, including plans, sections, diagrams, and simple reports under supervision.
- Using CAD and other engineering software to assist in preparing design documents and figures.
- Supporting site supervision teams with inspections, site walkdowns, and basic monitoring of work progress under guidance.
- Assisting in reviewing contractor submissions, as built information, and site records.
- Collecting, organizing, and reviewing project data such as surveys, as built records, site photos, vendor information, and technical specifications.
- Updating drawings and documents based on redlines and markups from senior staff.
- Supporting coordination between different disciplines by updating design and/or site information and tracking changes.
- Assisting with technical documentation, presentations, and meeting materials, and following up on action items.
- Learning and applying relevant standards, codes, and Parsons procedures as guided by senior staff.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil or Transportation) at an accredited institution in Qatar.
- Fundamental understanding of core engineering principles relevant to your discipline.
- Basic proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) for 2D drafting and drawing updates.
- Interest in both design work and construction projects, including on site activities and supervision tasks.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings (plans, sections, and details).
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to follow standards and procedures, and good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and eagerness to learn.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring
- Exposure to discipline specific software (e.g., Civil 3D, Synchro, SIDRA, or similar) through coursework or projects is preferable.
