About the Department
Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dedicated and dynamic Temporary Scribe (Accessibility Support Assistant). Reporting to the Director of Disability Services, the Scribe (Accessibility Support Assistant) is responsible for providing approved scribing services to students with disabilities in accordance with accommodation determinations made by the Office of Disability Services (ODS). The Scribe serves as a neutral facilitator who accurately records student responses during examinations, classroom activities, assignments, and other approved academic activities without influencing content, providing assistance beyond the approved accommodation, or altering academic standards. The Scribe must maintain student confidentiality, exercise professionalism, and adhere to all ODS policies and procedures. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and ODS staff.

Position Duties
- Provide approved scribing services for students with disabilities during exams, quizzes, classroom activities, and other approved academic tasks. Accurately record student responses verbatim without interpretation, editing, prompting, or influencing content. Read back responses as requested by the student to ensure accuracy. Follow all testing and accommodation procedures established by the Office of Disability Services. Maintain strict confidentiality of student records, educational information, and testing materials. Arrive promptly and reliably for all scheduled assignments. Communicate professionally with students, faculty, testing personnel, and ODS staff. Document services provided as required by the Office of Disability Services. Participate in mandatory training regarding disability accommodations, confidentiality, and scribing responsibilities. Report concerns, scheduling conflicts, or accommodation issues to the Director of Disability Services or designee. Assist with remote or virtual scribing services when approved and applicable. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Disability Services. The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic collaborator who will have demonstrated knowledge of the best practices associated with customer service. This individual will have access to sensitive student information and is expected to handle such information within confidential information guidelines and with integrity and professionalism. The successful candidate will also actively participate in creating an environment that encourages, models, embraces, and incorporates diverse thoughts and perspectives of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive atmosphere and drive results.

Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two-plus (2+) yearsofadministrative/office management related experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education & experience; Prior related experience in an educational setting is preferred. High School diploma/GED required; Associates degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education, administrative experience, or technical training is preferred.
