The Technician is responsible for executing projects properly and in a timely manner, spending most time in work fields or clients' premises. This role reports to the Project Engineer and Technical Manager, handling installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems.

- Handle delivery activities of contracts and sub contracts as per instructions and company procedures
- Manage maintenance schedules and attend on call support through telephone/online
- Provide documentation such as inspection procedures, delivery note and completion certificates
- Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors
- Identify site requirements for tools and installation materials including estimating costs and timescales
- Conduct and lead site installation, termination, inspection, testing and handover as per project plan
- Supervise subcontractor on hardware installations and terminations
- Conduct site system hardware troubleshooting and repairs
- Prepare and provide field service reports
Requirements
- Ability to handle delivery activities of contracts and sub contracts as per instructions

- Understanding of Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures
- Ability to supervise subcontractors on hardware installations and terminations
- Knowledge of safety standards and ability to ensure implementation
- Ability to prepare field service reports and project status reports

Summary/Objective
- The Technician is mainly responsible for the execution of projects properly and in a timely manner. Most of the technician’s time is spent in work fields/clients’ premises. This position reports to the Project Engineer and Technical Manager/Operations Manager.
Tasks
- Directly reports to the Project Engineer.
- Handles delivery activities of contracts and sub contracts as per instructions and in accordance with company procedures.
- Manages maintenance schedules and attends on call support through telephone/online.
- Provides documentations i.e inspection procedures, delivery note and completion certificates.
- Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
- Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
- Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
- Identifies site requirements from tools and installation materials for each job order including estimating costs and timescales.
- Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
- Encourages technicians and subordinates to take responsibility for their development within the company.
- Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Prepares the project status and completion reports and addresses issues as appropriate.
Installation related and Commissioning related tasks
- Conducts and leads site installation, termination, inspection, testing and handover as per project plan and when requested by Project Engineer, Project Manager, and/or Operations Manager.
- Supervises subcontractor on hardware installations and terminations.
- Liaises with the Project Engineer in the design and execution plan.
- Liaises with clients’ coordinators, contractors and sub contractors if/when needed.
- Ensures safety standards are implemented and followed in accordance with company guidelines.
- Follows Project Engineer’s instructions on installation activities and System Engineer’s instructions on commissioning activities to ensure all aspects of work are properly delivered.
- Conducts site system hardware troubleshooting and repairs.
- Prepares and provides Field service reports.
- Liaises with the System Engineer in the commissioning plan
