About the Role
KEO International Consultants seeks a Technical Translator seconded to a government client in Doha, Qatar. You will translate technical, business, and legal documents between English and Arabic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
- Translate technical, business, legal and operational documents from Arabic to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy, consistency and preservation of original meaning
- Review, proofread, edit and finalize translated materials prepared by internal teams and external providers
- Ensure translated content complies with established standards for terminology, clarity, style, formatting and quality
- Research and apply appropriate legal, technical and industry specific terminology to support translation assignments
- Liaise with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and consistency across translated documents
- Develop, maintain and enhance translation guidelines, reference materials and terminology databases
- Prepare translation reports, records and supporting documentation as required
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive company documents, information and correspondence
- Support knowledge sharing initiatives and mentor junior translators where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of translation processes, tools and quality standards
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in technical translation, preferably related to railways and transportation
- Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, Arabic, English or a related discipline
- Native or near native proficiency in both Arabic and English
- Strong understanding of technical, legal and business terminology
- Excellent proofreading, editing and quality assurance skills
- Proficiency in translation software and terminology management tools is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments within tight deadlines

- Our newest opportunity is for a talented Technical Translator, seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate written translation and interpretation services, translating a wide range of technical, business, and administrative documents between English and Arabic.
- Translating technical, business, legal and operational documents from Arabic to English and vice versa, ensuring accuracy, consistency and preservation of the original meaning, intent and tone.
- Reviewing, proofreading, editing and finalizing translated materials prepared by internal teams and external providers.
- Ensuring translated content complies with established standards for terminology, clarity, style, formatting and quality.
- Researching and applying appropriate legal, technical and industry specific terminology to support translation assignments.
- Liaising with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and consistency across translated documents.

Qualifications
- To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 5+ years experience in technical translation (preferably related to railways and transportation) partnered with Bachelor's Degree in Translation, Languages, Linguistics, Arabic, English or a relat
- Proven experience in Arabic English translation within a technical, engineering, infrastructure, transportation or corporate environment.
- Native or near native proficiency in both Arabic and English, with exceptional written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of technical, legal and business terminology.
- Excellent proofreading, editing and quality assurance skills.
- Proficiency in translation software and terminology management tools is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts.
