Technical Specialist (Robotics Research)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced robotics technician to join an established research programme. Based within the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), a world-leading centre for research into service robotics, intelligent autonomous systems and bio-engineering, this role provides technical support to the Soft Robotics research group’s Calming Cushion project.

You will enable laboratory research activities by undertaking, and supporting others in:

Designing and building novel mechatronics using your experience with electronic, mechanical and computer systems.

Rapid prototyping - 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, fabrication, casting, soldering.

You have proven experience designing and building novel mechatronics, programming electronic systems, and using rapid prototyping to quickly and effectively turn new concepts in physical models.
