About the Role
The Technical Program Manager will drive high-impact, cross-cutting technical programs across Motive’s product and engineering organization.
The role reports to the VP of Platform Services Engineering and acts as a cross-functional orchestrator rather than an administrative task manager.
The position will improve execution across interdependent roadmaps, drive platform adoption, and help unblock architectural shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate organizational priorities into executable roadmaps with measurable outcomes.
- Lead complex technical programs from definition and planning through delivery and adoption.
- Manage goals, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and execution risks across engineering and partner teams.
- Build roadmap reviews, status reporting, escalation paths, and success metrics.
- Identify systemic execution gaps and lead teams toward durable solutions.
- Influence stakeholders on technical and business trade-offs.
- Drive business reviews, executive reporting, and cross-organizational communications.
- Map product roadmaps into programs spanning multiple engineering teams.
- Implement tracking frameworks that flag delivery risks in advance.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related role in software, infrastructure, or platform organizations.
- 15+ years of experience in the technology industry.
- Experience leading large, ambiguous, multi-team programs with significant dependencies and measurable impact.
- Strong technical fluency covering architecture, trade-offs, delivery risks, and execution plans.
- Experience structuring programs, driving decisions, solving complex problems, and aligning senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive summaries and trade-off matrices.
- Experience establishing objective program metrics, including dashboards, SLO attainment, and cost trends.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background as a Software Engineer, Systems or Delivery Architect, or Technical Product Manager is preferred.
- Experience driving AI-assisted developer workflow tooling or agentic automation is preferred.
Pay Transparency
- The compensation range depends on factors including education, work experience, certifications, and location.
- The listed Canada compensation range is CAD 180,000 to CAD 210,000, with the source also appending USD.
