Technical Planner, Audio - Event Production (m/f/d)

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead and support audio system planning and design from concept and tender through detailed design, production, installation, and delivery.
• Create 2D and 3D Vectorworks drawings for system layouts, equipment positioning, cable routing, infrastructure, and rigging interfaces.
• Prepare system designs, signal flow diagrams, equipment specifications, schematics, patching information, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate audio designs with lighting, video, rigging, staging, power, structures, and other technical disciplines.
• Review venue and architectural drawings to identify requirements, constraints, interfaces, risks, and installation challenges.
• Support equipment lists, scopes of work, tendering, pre-production, and supplier or subcontractor requirements.
• Liaise with project teams, suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical matters.
• Review technical submissions, maintain drawing packages, and incorporate design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance during installation, commissioning, rehearsals, and onsite delivery where required.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and company quality standards.
• Contribute to technical planning standards, templates, workflows, and best practices.
• Stay informed about professional audio technology, system design software, equipment, and industry practices.

Candidate profile

• Proven experience in technical planning, audio system design, audio engineering, or a similar role in live events, entertainment, experiential, broadcast, theatre, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of professional audio systems, including loudspeakers, amplification, digital audio networks, signal distribution, mixing, processing, communications, and infrastructure.
• Strong Vectorworks proficiency and experience producing detailed technical drawings for live events or entertainment environments.
• Understanding of audio system design principles, signal flow, system integration, and equipment selection.
• Experience coordinating audio requirements with other production disciplines.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and independent working skills.
• Previous Middle East and/or international event production experience.
• A relevant degree, diploma, or technical qualification is preferred.
