About the Role
A leading Saudi contractor is seeking a Technical Manager to lead technical aspects of large-scale residential projects in Saudi Arabia. You will manage design coordination, engineering review, and technical compliance from design through handover.

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical management of multiple construction projects from design review through project completion
- Review, evaluate, and approve engineering drawings, specifications, material submittals, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, local building regulations, international engineering standards, and quality requirements
- Manage design coordination meetings and oversee the resolution of design clashes and engineering conflicts
- Review and monitor shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, value engineering proposals, and technical submissions
- Support project planning by providing technical guidance during tendering, procurement, construction, and project handover
- Collaborate closely with construction, commercial, procurement, and planning teams to ensure technical alignment throughout the project lifecycle
- Evaluate construction methodologies and recommend innovative engineering solutions that optimize cost, quality, and project timelines
- Monitor technical risks and ensure timely resolution of engineering challenges affecting project delivery
- Lead technical reporting and provide regular updates to senior management regarding engineering progress, risks, and key project milestones
- Mentor and develop technical teams while promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in technical management, engineering management, or design management within the construction industry
- Proven experience managing large scale construction projects, preferably residential, commercial, mixed use, or hospitality developments
- Strong background in design coordination, engineering review, technical compliance, and multidisciplinary project coordination
- Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering standards, local building regulations, and quality management systems
- Experience reviewing technical submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, material approvals, and value engineering proposals
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, project documentation, and technical project lifecycle management
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, developers, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent
- Strong leadership, problem solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in English; Arabic is considered an advantage

Role Overview
- The Technical Manager is responsible for leading and managing all technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring engineering excellence, design coordination, technical compliance, and successful project delivery.
- The role acts as the key link between design consultants, project teams, clients, and stakeholders, ensuring technical solutions are practical, cost effective, and aligned with project objectives while maintaining the highest quality standards.
