The Technical Advisor supports the Chief Information Officer Branch at the National Research Council Canada.
The role provides expert advice, research, analysis, development, and design for applications, client-facing portals, and DevOps processes.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established for additional positions over one year.
Work arrangement
- The position may be eligible for a limited hybrid arrangement combining onsite work and telework, subject to operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Advise project teams and business clients on application design, development, testing, implementation, integration, maintenance, and support.
- Conduct feasibility studies, recommend technical alternatives, and present options for decision-making.
- Provide technical direction to working groups and periodically lead technical project teams.
- Configure and extend Dynamics CRM 365 using entities, forms, workflows, business processes, security permissions, plugins, .NET, and JavaScript.
- Develop Power Pages portals and integrate Dynamics with other systems and data sources.
Screening requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science is required, with a related technical college diploma and equivalent direct experience also considered.
- Ten years of IT business application development experience is required.
- Extensive Dynamics CRM 365 configuration and significant Dynamics customization experience are required.
- Significant Power Pages development experience, including Government of Canada Web Standards, is required.
- Experience with Agile or Scrum, source control, release automation, and Azure DevOps is required.
- English is the stated language requirement.
Technical competencies
- Advanced C#/.NET and JavaScript development skills are required.
- Strong Power Pages development and Dynamics integration skills are required.
- Experience with Power Automate, web services, APIs, and data migration is required.
- Client focus, communication, conceptual and analytical ability, results orientation, and teamwork are assessed competencies.
Additional qualifications
- Experience with Grants and Contributions implementations or other Microsoft Power Platform applications is an asset.
- Reliability Status clearance is a condition of employment and requires five years of background verification.
Compensation
- Compensation is CAD 103,911 to CAD 130,061 per annum.
