Systems Administrator

The Computer Systems Administrator helps maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.

Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Provides on-going operations and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) equipment and software, sets up administrator and service accounts, system performance tuning, update installations, and maintenance of system configuration/installation documentation.

Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.

• Participate in daily briefing with the end-user to provide status of the systems
• Perform on-site System Administration support to the end-user personnel and assist the end-user engineers with administering the system
• Perform System Administration tasks for routine, emergency, test and exercise events in accordance with Technical Manuals, Operating Instructions, and checklists.
• Perform user account maintenance to include the creation, management, and deletion of user and group accounts, profiles, and policies.
• Perform On-The-Job-Training (OJT) and one-on-one assistance on the systems
