The System Engineer manages maintenance operations for airport airfield lighting control, monitoring, and auxiliary electronic systems.
The role includes planning maintenance activities and supporting operational excellence.
Job Description
- Manage maintenance teams for ALCMS, SAM, AiPRON Manager, and installed electronic systems.
- Analyze equipment failures, determine root causes, and report safety hazards.
- Enforce safety rules and supervise, plan, organize, and evaluate technicians' work.
- Adjust assignments and schedules, train employees, and support performance evaluations.
- Schedule work, including overtime, vacations, and time off.
- Manage maintenance tasks, review records, and inspect airport facilities.
- Use computerized maintenance management systems for maintenance scheduling.
- Oversee external parties and subcontractors and support overall maintenance operations.
- Recommend capital equipment and spare-parts requirements.
Skills
- Familiarity with airside operations, rules, and best practices.
- Strong written and oral communication, management, leadership, scheduling, planning, and reporting skills.
- Customer-oriented, results-oriented, safety-aware, and self-directed approach.
- Multilingual and international or intercultural experience is valued.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience with electronics equipment and SCADA systems.
- Competence in QCAR, ICAO, BAA, and FAA AGL regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of airfield lighting operation and maintenance.
- Skill with standard and specialized tools used in the work.
- Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and prepare detailed reports and recommendations.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with associates and the airport operator.
- Ability to supervise, train, motivate, and inspect subordinate work.
Additional Requirements
- English is the top language priority; additional languages are an asset.
- Qatari driving license is required.
