Role Overview
The Supplier Quality & Development Engineer will develop supplier capability, improve performance, and support quality, compliance, and sustainability across the global supply base.
The role works with Procurement, Category Management, Engineering, and Quality teams.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate, audit, and onboard suppliers to support sourcing and procurement strategies.
- Conduct supplier audits and periodic re-evaluations against quality and regulatory standards.
- Support new product introductions through Design for Manufacture reviews, process development, and PPAP or sample approval activities.
- Develop supplier improvement plans and drive corrective actions.
- Lead structured supplier problem-solving activities, including 8D.
- Resolve supplier non-conformances and quality concerns.
- Perform Commercial Grade Surveys and Commercial Grade Item Dedication for the Nuclear Quality Assurance programme.
- Maintain records, performance metrics, and stakeholder reporting.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- At least three years of quality-function experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience planning and delivering internal or supplier audits.
