RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Approved Vendor List (AVL), including supplier onboarding, status changes, and removal in coordination with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
  • Review supplier documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, certificates of conformance, test reports, material certifications, process certifications) for technical completeness and compliance with requirements.
  • Communicate with suppliers to request, clarify, and resolve technical data needs, including CAD models, drawings, specifications, inspection reports, and other engineering documentation.
  • Author Discrepancy Reports (DRs) related to supplier-provided hardware and documentation issues.
  • Generate and manage deviation and waiver requests in coordination with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain when supplied hardware does not fully meet requirements but may be acceptable for use.
  • Support supplier-related root cause and corrective action activities, including data collection, failure analysis support, and tracking implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support Supplier Engineering in developing and documenting supplier-related processes, standards, and work instructions (e.g., supplier qualification, documentation review workflows, DR/deviation processes).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) to ensure supplier capabilities and documentation align with product requirements and program needs.
  • Maintain clear and orderly records and data in relevant systems to ensure traceability and minimize risk of documentation errors or omissions.
  • Facilitate Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) with suppliers, including initiating RMA requests, coordinating logistics for returning nonconforming material, tracking RMA status, and ensuring appropriate credits, replacements, or repairs are processed in a timely manner.
  • Support Supply Chain by updating contractual due dates, follow up with PO acknowledgments, update tracking and closing Purchase Orders as necessary.
  • Data maintenance, migration and minor reporting as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supplier Engineering Lead.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or supply chain discipline preferred).
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or supplier-facing roles in a high product complexity environment, such as Space, Aerospace, Defense, or Medical.
  • Strong time management and attention to detail, particularly in handling technical documentation and multiple supplier interfaces.
  • Understanding of engineering models and drawings (basic GD&T knowledge).
  • Familiarity with quality documentation, discrepancy reporting, and/or deviation/waiver processes.
  • Strong understanding of AS9102 requirements and First Article Inspection (FAI) processes, including reviewing and/or preparing AS9102 forms with suppliers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • DESIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent in-person and written communication skills, including experience drafting technical emails and reports.
  • Experience managing projects or initiatives with multiple stakeholders, particularly cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain).
  • 3 years of experience in inspection, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, or similar technical role.
  • Space industry or other high-reliability industry experience.
  • Familiarity with project and data management tools, such as MS Project, MS Excel, PLM/ERP systems, Wrike, or Github.
  • Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $28.00 - $35.60 per hour, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
