Job Overview

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers. Determine food presentation and create decorative displays. Ensure proper portion sizes and food quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers
  • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
  • Ensure proper portion sizes, arrangement and decoration of food served
  • Control the amount of food prepared
  • Inform Food and Beverage service staff about rejected products and special menu items
  • Prepare special meals or substitute products
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks
  • Monitor kitchen items and food in stock
  • Maintain kitchen records to comply with food safety and product programs
  • Ensure food quality and notify manager of any non conforming products
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating and coaching employees
  • Comply with all safety and company policies; report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree from a technical, trade or vocational school
  • 4 to 6 years of related work experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
