Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service at checkout
- Accurately scan and total items, and process cash, card, and digital payments
- Handle cash register operations including opening/closing balances and daily reconciliation
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change correctly
- Bag items properly and assist customers with packing when needed
- Answer customer queries about products, prices, and promotions
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Monitor and report any pricing discrepancies or product issues
- Follow all company policies on loss prevention, cash handling, and security
- Assist with restocking, shelf organization, or other store duties during slow periods, as needed
- Handle customer complaints calmly and escalate to a supervisor when necessary
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred (freshers may also apply)
- Basic math skills and comfort using POS systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle a fast paced environment
- Honesty, attention to detail, and a customer first attitude
- Basic English communication skills required
- Must be available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
