Job Purpose
Oversee welding activities for jackets and production decks.
Coordinate all phases of welding work, including consumables, subcontractor allocation, and detailed scheduling.
Ensure projects are completed safely and on time.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage day-to-day construction operations for efficiency and performance against project specifications and budget.
- Lead welding workers and supervisors to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Lead PQR and WQT activities through communication with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure preheating and post-heating requirements are completed according to material thickness, grade, and specifications.
- Conduct inspections and monitor welding and rectification work.
- Maintain required inventory levels of welding consumables.
- Review construction drawings and plan welding sequences with the KPI plan.
- Coordinate weekly meetings with subcontractor foremen and distribute three-week look-ahead schedules.
- Control construction consumable and equipment costs.
- Implement and monitor the project schedule and escalate schedule or performance issues.
- Apply shipyard HSEQ regulations and rig-building job certification requirements.
- Deliver Inspection Test Records through effective delegation and coordination with other disciplines.
