Job Purpose
The role is for an experienced Substation Design Engineer supporting renewable energy projects, including ISTS and captive projects.
The engineer will design and execute EHV substations up to 400kV for solar and wind projects.
Design and Engineering
- Lead front-end, preliminary and detailed design of EHV substations for renewable energy projects.
- Prepare and review SLDs, AC and DC SLDs, layouts and detailed engineering documents.
- Perform primary and secondary engineering for 400kV substations.
- Conduct earthing, lightning protection, illumination, conductor sizing and other component calculations.
- Prepare RFPs for EHV substation ISTS and captive renewable EPC packages.
- Complete GIS and AIS design, including equipment sizing, layouts and auxiliary system design.
- Perform battery, CT, VT, cable and auxiliary transformer sizing calculations.
- Review and finalize bills of materials and technical data sheets.
Compliance and Collaboration
- Ensure substation designs comply with local, state, CTU and relevant industry regulations and codes.
- Prepare and submit drawings and coordinate with regulatory authorities for permits and approvals.
- Collaborate with electrical, civil, structural and other engineering disciplines.
