Role Overview
Lead, implement, maintain, and continually improve certified management systems and accreditations.
Manage internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits and ensure effective closure of audit findings.
Standards and Accreditations
- Work with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, AS9100, Nadcap, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO/IEC 27001 systems.
- Maintain compliance with AMS, ASTM, PRI, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements.
Metallurgical Laboratory Operations
- Lead chemical analysis, mechanical testing, metallography, failure analysis, and heat treatment evaluation.
- Develop, review, and approve laboratory procedures, test methods, and work instructions.
- Oversee equipment calibration and maintenance, data integrity, traceability, and test documentation.
Management Systems and Audits
- Manage NABL ISO/IEC 17025 scope and method validation for laboratory operations.
- Lead Nadcap accreditation activities and maintain compliance with PRI requirements.
- Plan internal audits and coordinate certification body, NABL, Nadcap, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Track findings, nonconformities, observations, and opportunities for improvement through closure.
Qualification and Product Development
- Lead aerospace product and process qualification activities, including plans, reports, AS9102 FAI, and capability studies.
- Coordinate new product and customer development in aerospace and defense markets.
- Align plant quality systems with customer requirements for high-end product quality.
Customer Interface
- Visit customers to understand their perceptions, processes, and applications.
- Provide inputs for customer-specific practices and develop or modify products based on customer requirements.
- Analyze customer complaints and implement systematic actions to prevent recurrence.
Documentation and Capability
- Develop, review, and approve SOPs, procedures, manuals, formats, and records.
- Maintain master lists for standards, specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Upgrade the testing laboratory and develop testing personnel to meet NABL and Nadcap requirements.
