About the Role
GE Vernova is seeking a Commissioning Specialist to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' and GEV’s site. The role involves testing and validation of equipment, facilities, or plants, with a focus on substation automation systems.

Responsibilities
- Perform all activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance to the design objectives or specifications for operational use
- Responsible for activities related to SAS commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization commissioning work, management activities related to this scope and coordination with Client for Daily activities
- Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline
- Resolve issues using established procedures
- Develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE
- Ensure compliance to PMH, GRID Quality & EHS Policies and procedures
- Record and report Quality Objectives & KPI data
- Recommend field changes beneficial to plant operations or necessary for efficient commissioning
- Prepare final Commissioning report highlighting problem areas, recommended engineering changes, improvements in organizational efficiency and personnel performance evaluations
- Prepare monthly progress reports of activities performed by Commissioning group
- On time reporting and prepare test plan and associated test procedures
- Ensure safe procedures – Permits, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, LOTO and all high risk activities are followed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Electrical includes: electronics, communication and Power)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substation automation systems
- Basic experience in Grid Automation systems: Monitoring and Diagnostics, Protection, DCS/Substation Automation Systems (Zenon, DSagile, Aview software Alstom, GE) and KSA experience will be advantage
- Experience in communication with Protection and control system as well as IEDs integration
- Practical knowledge in Power Transformer, Protection, Telecom, SAS Network, Cybersecurity, IEC61850 protocol
- Legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restriction
- Ability to travel 60% or more out of site base city

Job Description Summary
- The commissioning Specialist is responsible to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' and GEV’s site.
- These activities contribute to test, commission, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products.
- Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering.
- Accountable for the quality of own work.
- Executes within a well defined operations framework in accordance with the overall targets (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery) defined for the Project and in line with the technical specifications of the Contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance to the design objectives or specifications for operational use, including performance services, and performance tests
- Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
- Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.
- Understand how work of own team contributes to the area.
- Responsible for activities related to SAS commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization commissioning work, management activities related to this scope and coordination with Client for Daily activities .
- Resolve issues using established procedures.
- Consult supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters, and collaborate with others to solve issues.
- Develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
- Exchange technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
- Ensuring compliance to PMH, GRID Quality & EHS Policies and procedures
- Recording and reporting of Quality Objectives & KPI data

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. ( Electrical includes: electronics , communication and Power ).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substation automation systems.
- Ability to learn and expand work scope in GEV products portfolio
