About the Role
GE Vernova is hiring a Substation Automation Commissioning Specialist to perform commissioning, testing, and validation of substation automation systems at customer sites in Riyadh.

Responsibilities
- Perform all activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance to the design objectives or specifications for operational use, including performance services, and performance tests
- Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area
- Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience
- Understand how work of own team contributes to the area
- Resolve issues using established procedures. Consult supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
- Collaborate with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE
- Responsible for activities related to commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization commissioning work, management activities related to this scope and coordination with Client for Daily activities
- Ensuring compliance to PMH, GRID Quality & EHS Policies and procedures
- On time Recording and reporting of Quality Objectives & KPI data reporting
- Recommend field changes beneficial to plant operations or necessary for efficient commissioning
- Prepare final Commissioning report highlighting problem areas, recommended engineering changes, improvements in organizational efficiency and personnel performance evaluations
- Prepare progress reports of activities performed by Commissioning group and highlight any negative events such as delays, design/erection errors, missing spares etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical engineering (Electrical includes electronics, communication and Power)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Substation Automation systems: (PACiS, DSagile, Aview software)
- Good knowledge in SAS, Network, IEC61850 protocol, IEC101, IEC 104 and IEC103
- Ability to communicate with customer, prepare site activity schedule and deliver on time
- Experience in Automation systems: Monitoring and Diagnostics, Telecom, Protection, DCS/Substation
- Good knowledge in Telecom, Protection, Cybersecurity, Modbus
- Team oriented and collaborative approach including outstanding listening skills and ability to manage through influence
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills in English and Arabic
- Ability to travel 75% or more out of site base city
- Genuine commitment to EHS culture and commitment to I&D agenda
- Comply with Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes, and Spirit and Letter compliance rules
- Build strong relationship with GA customers and business stakeholders; projects and operations teams, contractors and system integrators

Job Description Summary
- The commissioning specialist is responsible to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' and GEV’s site.
- Activities contribute to test, commission, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products.
- Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), manage maintenance facilities and field services engineering.
- Accountable for the quality of own work.
- Executes within a well defined operations framework in accordance with the overall targets (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery) defined for the Project and in line with the technical specifications of the Contract.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical engineering. (Electrical includes electronics, communication and Power).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Substation Automation systems: (PACiS, DSagile, Aview software).
- Ability to learn and expand work scope in GEV products portfolio.
- Good knowledge in SAS, Network, IEC61850 protocol, IEC101, IEC 104 and IEC103.
