About the Role
GE Vernova seeks a Substation Automation Commissioning Specialist to perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of substation automation systems on customer sites in Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
- Perform all activities related to testing and validation of equipment, facility, or plant in accordance with design objectives or specifications
- Responsible for SAS commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization to commissioning work and management activities
- Coordinate with client for daily activities
- Resolve issues using established procedures and consult supervisor for issues outside defined parameters
- Develop strong customer relationships and serve as interface between customer and GE
- Ensure compliance to PMH, GRID Quality & EHS Policies and procedures
- Record and report Quality Objectives & KPI data
- Recommend field changes beneficial to plant operations or necessary for efficient commissioning
- Prepare final Commissioning report highlighting problem areas, recommended engineering changes, improvements
- Prepare monthly progress reports of activities performed by Commissioning group
- Prepare test plan and associated test procedures
- Ensure safe procedures – Permits, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, LOTO and all high risk activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (including electronics, communication, or power)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substation automation systems
- Basic experience in Grid Automation systems: Monitoring and Diagnostics, Protection, DCS/Substation Automation Systems (Zenon, DSagile, Aview software Alstom, GE)
- Experience in communication with Protection and control system as well as IEDs integration
- Practical knowledge in Power Transformer, Protection, Telecom, SAS Network, Cybersecurity, IEC61850 protocol
- Legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restriction
- Ability to travel 60% or more out of site base city
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills in English (Arabic is advantage)

Job Description Summary
- The Commissioning Specialist is responsible to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' and GEV’s site.
- Activities contribute to test, commission, maintain, repair and refurbish sold or existing products.
- Accountable for the quality of own work. Executes within a well defined operations framework in accordance with overall targets (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all activities related to the testing and validation of an equipment, facility or plant in accordance to the design objectives or specifications for operational use.
- Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline.
- Apply general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.
- Understand how work of own team contributes to the area.
- Responsible for activities related to SAS commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization commissioning work, management activities and coordination with Client.
- Resolve issues using established procedures.
- Consult supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
- Exchange technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
- Ensuring compliance to PMH, GRID Quality & EHS Policies and procedures.
- Recording and reporting of Quality Objectives & KPI data.
- Recommend field changes beneficial to plant operations or necessary for efficient commissioning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Electrical includes: electronics, communication and Power).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in substation automation systems.
- Ability to learn and expand work scope in GEV products portfolio.
- Basic Experience in Grid Automation systems: Monitoring and Diagnostics, Protection, DCS/Substation Automation Systems (Zenon, DSagile, Aview software Alstom, GE) and KSA experience will be advantage.
- Experience in communication with Protection and control system as well as IEDs integration.
- Practical Knowledge in Power Transformer, Protection, Telecom, SAS Network, Cybersecurity, IEC61850 protocol.
- The legal right to work in KSA without company sponsorship or time restriction.
