About the Role

  • Student Support Assistants play a crucial role in supporting the inclusion of pupils with additional educational needs in the school community.
  • They normally work with an individual student, supporting them to overcome barriers to learning (e.g., English language difficulties, social/emotional/behavioral difficulties, or other academic needs).
  • The aim is to help the pupil learn as effectively as possible both in group and individual situations, inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Support the inclusion of pupils with additional educational needs.
  • Work with individual students to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist in developing and delivering a suitable programme of support within the classroom and on a one to one basis.
  • Collaborate with Class Teachers to support pupils' learning.

Selection Process

  • Applicants should submit a CV, letter of application, and details of two professional referees, one of which should be your current Line Manager.
