About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the school’s health and safety management system, ensuring policies and procedures are understood and applied.
- Provide practical health and safety advice and guidance to school leadership, operations, facilities and teaching teams.
- Coordinate and maintain risk assessments across school activities, facilities, educational visits, events and contractors.
- Carry out regular health and safety inspections and audits across the school site.
- Lead or support incident and near miss investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Support the development and testing of emergency response arrangements, including fire evacuation, lockdown and medical emergency procedures.
- Deliver health and safety induction, training and awareness sessions for staff and contractors.
- Manage contractor safety compliance and monitor contractor activities on site.
- Report regularly on health and safety performance to school and regional leadership.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience, e.g. NEBOSH International General Certificate
- Experience in a health and safety role, ideally within a school, education, facilities, hospitality or healthcare environment
- Strong understanding of risk assessment, inspections, incident investigation and corrective action management
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders in a school environment
- Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records
- IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid or Fire Safety training (desirable)
- Experience working in Qatar or the wider GCC (desirable)
