Role Overview
Oversee inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction activities for base structures at Al Udeid Air Base.
Ensure structural work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with U.S. Air Force, DoD, host nation, and industry standards.
Lead skilled trades personnel and coordinate with engineering, safety, and operations teams to maintain mission-ready facilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Supervise structures maintenance and repair teams, including carpenters, masons, welders, and general maintenance personnel.
- Plan, assign, and inspect work involving buildings, roofs, doors, windows, hangars, shelters, concrete, and other structural components.
- Conduct facility inspections, identify deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Coordinate repairs, renovations, and construction projects with engineering, logistics, and project management teams.
- Maintain work order, inspection, materials, and labor-hour records.
- Train personnel, manage tools and materials, support emergency repairs, and enforce applicable Air Force, facilities, and contract requirements.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical or trade school education is preferred.
- Five to seven years of experience in structural maintenance, construction, or facilities management is required.
- At least two years of supervisory or lead experience is required.
- Knowledge of structural systems, construction methods, and building materials is required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications is required.
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems or work order software is required.
Additional Requirements
- A valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
- The candidate must meet current USCENTCOM deployment policy requirements.
- The role requires work in dust, high temperatures, weather, hazardous conditions, and long hours.
- A DoD Secret Clearance must be obtained and maintained.
Deployment and Travel
- Travel is 100% in the deployed location.
- The role is based at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and requires field deployment conditions.
